Bright Child Photography

All photography on this page is from my Bright Children’s portrait sessions.

“I have two autistic toddler girls and I thought I would never be able to get family pictures, but her knowledge of children (bubbles!) and patience persevered and the photos are completely amazing!!!!!”

Why I’m The Right Photographer For You
I have enjoyed working with Bright Children. Not every photographer can photograph them with the ease that I am able to. They get over-stimulated and don’t like to be the center of attention. Oftentimes eye contact is difficult so I need to be creative in encouraging them to look toward the camera.
I remember when I first spoke to a mom named Debbie and she told me she wouldn’t be spending more than $100. She wasn’t very optimistic that the session would go smoothly and that we would be able to capture images of her son. He is mostly non-verbal and does not sit still. I delivered the first batch of artwork and they fell in love. They placed a second order for gifts and their own home.

A Few Things I Do Differently

I know that bright children need a different environment to shine. Here’s a few things I do differently from most photographers that helps me stand out as a special needs photographer:

1. Get to know the family before the session

2. Offer a zoom with the kid(s) before

3. Bring props to the session

4. Bring an assistant (by request)

5. Sensitive to a kid’s need to take a break

6. Keep it light and fun
Children I Work With
I have worked with and love the opportunity to bring out the personalities of all children including those with Autism, Aspergers, Apraxia, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, and more.
